2010 GAMES OF TEXAS - WELCOME TO WACO

Are you ready for a weekend of non-stop sports action in Waco? The 2010 Games of Texas will take place August 5 - 8 and will feature 14 state championships held at some of Waco's top sports venues. Both recreational and competitive athletes can enter the events, many of which are still open for registration. For events such as swimming and track, qualifying meets are being held across the state. This year, the Games of Texas will celebrate its 25th Anniversary with an amazing Fireworks Show on August 6 in Downtown Waco.  The City of Waco Parks and Recreation Department is proud to host this year's Games, and we you can join us for a weekend of athletic excellence and Central Texas hospitality. Established in 1986, the Games are patterned after the Olympic Games and U.S. Olympic Sports Festivals. The Games provide a forum for training and competition among Texas’ own Olympic hopefuls, as well as both youth and adult recreational athletes.
