About:
A TAAF participant for Team McAllen since 2015, Ayden began his running career when he was eight years old with the guidance of late legendary Coach Tony Trejo and son Jesse Trejo. As a young athlete for Team McAllen, Ayden has accomplished many of his goals through his consistent work ethic and perseverance. Representing Team McAllen and McAllen Memorial High School, Ayden has been a driving force in the success of the programs. At the 2022 TAAF Games of Texas and Regional Track & Field Meet, Ayden sprinted past his opponents in the 3200M and 1600M races winning first place honors, which qualified him for Nationals. In 2019 at the TAAF Games of Texas State Meet, Ayden earned bronzed honors in the 2 Mile with a time of 10:29, received the silver medal in the 1 Mile with a personal record time of 4:47, which qualified him for the national meet in both events. At McAllen Memorial High School, Ayden has won 16 consecutive UIL meets in the 800M, 1600M and 3200M. He is currently the Rio Grande Valley record holder in the 800M with a time of 1:56.84. He holds the 2 Mile record at the PSJA Bears Relays with a time of 9:22.56. Outside of the track, Ayden is heavily involved in his school’s theatre program participating in a variety of musicals and even taking on one of the main leads in Rock of Ages. After high school, he plans to run at the collegiate level while majoring in Sports Medicine or Marine Biology. He plans to one day compete at the Olympics. |
