STATE SWIMMING QUALIFICATIONS

T.A.A.F. State Swimming qualification begins at the local level with the swim athlete being registered through their member city swim team, affiliate swim team or as an unattached athlete. Practice meets, depending on region, are available to the athlete prior to regional competition. The T.A.A.F. registered athlete must qualify through regional competition (the region in which they are registered). Once the athlete qualifies at region level, he or she advances to the T.A.A.F. State Swim Meet held at the T.A.A.F. Summer Games of Texas. ALL Unattached Athletes and New Affiliate Memberships must be processed no later than 3 working days prior to Region deadline or June 30 whichever comes first. Please check your region to view exact date by clicking qualifying information below.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY

The Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) contractor has closed two Highway 6 northbound ramps and a northbound frontage road lane between University Drive and Briarcrest Drive.

The Highway 6 northbound exit ramp to Briarcrest Drive will be closed and traffic wanting to access Briarcrest Drive will be detoured to the newly constructed University Drive exit ramp which is now open. Additionally, the Highway 6 northbound entrance ramp will be closed and traffic wanting to enter Highway 6 will have to use the next entrance ramp north of Briarcrest Drive. These ramp closures allow the contractor to remove the existing ramps and construct new ramps.

The left lane of the Highway 6 northbound frontage road will also be closed leaving one lane of traffic between University Drive and Briarcrest Drive. This closure will allow the contractor to begin roadway widening operations for a future auxiliary lane between the two new ramps.

A construction speed zone of 60 mph will be in place within the work area for the Highway 6 northbound traffic only. As a reminder to motorists, this speed limit will be enforced.
