TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR: Chris McKeehan canyonsclimbinggym@att.net DIVISIONS: Youth and Adult beginner, intermediate, and advanced divisions for
Difficulty/Speed Climbing events. FORMAT: Competition will use Redpoint Format, as per USA Climbing. All competitors climb at the
same time and are allowed to observe other climbers prior to their attempts. Competitors
may also discuss the problems amongst each other. Competitors must also start the
problem from the start holds (may not begin from the middle). Competitors "witness"
each other climb and when a competitor completes a problem, he/she has two witnesses
initial their scorecard. Competitors may choose which and how many of the problems
they will attempt, and they get as many attempts as time permits.
SCORING: Per USA Climbing using the scorecard provided at competition, every competitor will
circle his/her category and complete name and age. They will mark which problems
they complete in addition to marking falls (incomplete attempts). When competitors
turn in their scorecards, they will circle their top 5 (five) scores to be tallied. Scoring
is usually done per hold/high point and deductions taken for number of attempts.
ENTRIES: Please click here to download a waiver. Registration will take place starting
at 12:00pm on Sunday, Jan. 19. Competition will take place from 1:00pm - 3:00pm.
REGISTRATION FEES: $25 per climber to enter the Difficulty/Speed Climbing Competition;
Each climber is guaranteed the same amount of climbing time to complete
each of the events in which he/she has signed up to be a participant.
AWARDS: Winter Games medals will be awarded individually to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in
each division and gender for the combined score of Difficulty and Speed Climbing.
DEADLINE: Entries will be accepted until 1:00pm on Sunday, January 19. ADMISSION: Spectator admission is free
